MINNEAPOLIS - The spring buying season of 2013 might be a little easier for consumers thanks to a new Minnesota Statute.
It states that plants, plant materials, or nursery stock must not be labeled or advertised with false or misleading information including, but not limited to, scientific name, variety, place of origin, hardiness zone as defined by the United States Department of Agriculture, and growth habit.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has plant lists on their website if you are interested to see if a plant is hardy or not and if the label is correct.
