Edina man on a serious Jeopardy! run

For the past week or so the crew at Veritas Technologies in Roseville has been meeting in the cafeteria every afternoon to watch co-worker and Edina resident Rob Worman dominate on Jeopardy!, America's favorite quiz show.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. - It's always good when you can break up the old work routine... especially when the disruption involves someone you know winning serious cash.

For the past week or so the crew at Veritas Technologies in Roseville has been meeting in the cafeteria every afternoon to watch co-worker and Edina resident Rob Worman dominate on Jeopardy!, America's favorite quiz show. As of Thursday, Worman had finished on top in six straight episodes, piling up more than $133,000 in winnings.

"I wasn't too scared," he reflected about the run, which was taped in October. "When you're having fun it's hard to be scared."

Worman says the afternoon watch parties have been fun, with his co-workers enjoying his win streak and good fortune. "There's an awful lot of similarly trivia-obsessed nerds, shall we say," he laughed.

"It's been crazy seeing him win as many as he has," shared one Veritas Technology employee.

A Jeopardy! fan since he was a kid, Worman says his quest to be a contestant on the show was inspired by record-setting champion Ken Jennings. Landing a spot required an online tryout, a personal interview in Denver in August, which led to the taping shortly after Thanksgiving.

While Worman can't share how long his winning streak lasts, another co-worker is more concerned about the answer to another question. "I just wonder if he's going to treat us to lunch after he wins this whole thing?"
