Open Street Neighborhood Event

Saturday, May 31 is the first event for Open Streets MPLS

During Open Streets events, organizers close down major roadways to car traffic. Instead, they encourage people to bike, blade or walk in the "open street." The free, family-fun events encourage outdoor activity and build community. The first event on Saturday takes place along Humboldt Avenue through the heart of north Minneapolis.

As an added feature, Health Fair 11 in the "Q"mmunity will be providing free health check during all Open Streets events this summer. (Free cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, and BMI checks). It's a celebration of bikes and art! The annual ARTCRANK takes place Saturday in Northeast's Shelter Studios and will feature handmade, bike-inspired posters by Twin Cities artists.
