LOS ANGELES -- Kat Perkins rocked out in her first live performance on NBC's "The Voice" Monday night.

The Minneapolis songstress sang Heart's "Magic Man" as she faced off against 11 other contestants in the show's first live performance of the season.

"Kat's voice is special because she can rise above and cut through any big arrangement musically," said coach Adam Levine. "I can't imagine giving this song to anyone else. She's a true rock and roll singer."

"This is the hardest thing I've ever done. It's a high pressure situation," Kat said before her performance.
