LOS ANGELES -- A Minnesota nanny took to the prime time stage Monday in the playoff rounds on NBC's "The Voice."

Kat Perkins performed the song "Open Arms" by Journey. She said the song best proves why she deserves to be one of the top 12 contestants -- and it worked.

Perkins was one of three singers chosen by coach Adam Levine to move on to the live shows, when viewers at home will vote on who stays and who goes.
