MINNETONKA, Minn. - St. David’s Center, based in Minnetonka, is expanding at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 1200 S Marquette Avenue in Minneapolis.

St. David’s Center will occupy over 9,000 square feet of space in the church’s new wing where it will serve at least 200 children birth to five years of age and their parents who live in urban Minneapolis and nearby communities. The Center will offer infant and early childhood mental health services, pediatric therapies, and a day treatment program for children ages 2 to 6 who have faced trauma. St. David’s Center’s East African Autism Day Treatment Program will also relocate to the campus downtown.

Several officials gathered Wednesday to mark the construction progress.

“It’s heartwarming to see so many people supporting St. David’s Center’s goals to create a better world for our children,” said CEO Julie Sjordal. “We’ll see better outcomes for young children who have faced early adversity, parents will get the support and services they need, and any delays or developmental challenges will get addressed well before children enter kindergarten.”

St. David’s Center reaches 3,000 children and families annually throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding counties.
