Insomniacs, listen up!

While Americans are actually getting more zzz’s a night -- a whopping 18 minutes, but a one-third of seniors say they have to take a sleep aid in order to fall asleep. But do the rewards of sleep aids outweigh the risks?

Dr. Daniel Kessler, a sleep specialist at Allina Health, stopped by KARE 11 News at 11 to discuss why sleep medication of any kind (prescription, over-the-counter or supplemental) can be bad for our health as we age, and what we can do instead to get a better night’s sleep.
