GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Severe weather season is right around the corner in Minnesota.
Home maintenance expert Charles Thayer with All Around shares what homeowners can do right now to help prevent storm damage this summer.
He says families should have a storm plan ready and prepare their homes ahead of time, in case severe weather rolls in. Trimming trees and removing dead limbs, and making sure lawn furniture is secured, are both good places to start.
Thayer also says to make sure gutters are flowing properly, check the sump pump and address minor damage to shingles ahead of time.
