GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – Imagine if you had to learn how to walk and talk all over again.

That’s a reality for some people diagnosed with rare brain and spinal cord tumors.

The WalkTalkConnect 5K Fun Walk/Run is hoping to raise money and awareness about them.

Co-Founder Kathy Kuhl stopped by KARE 11 News at 4 to talk about the event, which takes place Sunday, May 21 at Excelsior Brewing Company from 12 to 4 p.m.

Kuhl was diagnosed with an ependymoma in 2014 and had to eventually learn how to walk again.

Money raised benefits the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.

You can register for the event online.
