BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Mall of America is holding its annual Passage to China event and this year they're filling the entire Southeast Court with colorful traditional Chinese fashions.

The free, family-oriented event will provide 'armchair' travelers with an opportunity to journey through Chinese culture, history, and geography.

Guided by members of 40 local Chinese organizations, travelers can learn their fortune, have their name translated into Chinese, or meet with historical figures.

Children will be issued special 'passports' that will be stamped as they journey through different interactive games such as paper folding, musical instrument making, Chinese calligraphy lessons, or lion dancing.

A Passage to China is presented by the Chinese Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with China Insight.

The event will be held Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 from 11:00am-5:00pm at the Mall of America Rotunda at the Sears Court.

Event spokesperson Yim Simpson and Pearl Bergad of the Passage Committee visited KARE 11 Sunrise with more on what visitors can expect and the fashions on display.
