GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The un-official kick-off to spring, the 2014 Minneapolis Home and Garden Show, is taking place through Sunday, March 2 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The show is sure to inspire homeowners with its more than one thousand experts sharing new ideas and practical advice as well as hundreds of exhibits featuring innovative products and services. The show has exhibits all related to home, gardening, remodeling, and home d├ęcor.

Sasha Andreev, "The Man on the Avenue" aka a presenter at the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show, joined KARE 11 News @ 4 and brought a sampling of the items chosen and featured as the most innovative products at the Home and Garden Show.

Here are some of his favorite things-

1. Steampunk Industrial Lighting from Machine Age Lamps- One-of-a-kind lamps built out of salvaged early American factory parts, everything from tractors and radios, to gas meters and steam gauges. - a combination of art and function, built in Lakeville, MN - an artist who started making this as a hobby a year ago and now makes a living creating these unique designs. 2. WallyHOME from SNUPI Technologies - a system of sensors that measure humidity, moisture and temperature all around your house - communicate to the main hub wirelessly, using your home's electrical wiring as a network - and the hub send your notifications if you have a leak some place, or conditions for mold growth. is found at booth #1713.

3. BloomBagz - a new alternative to the traditional plastic and ceramic pots.
