The benefits of plants and flowers in your home and work place

Office plants

1. Plants offer "micro-restoration" – the chance for our brains to recharge throughout the day.

2. Our brains expend a lot of energy on tasks that require direct attention. This mental fatigue can only be restored when we give our direct attention a break. Plants offer just this type of absorbing, restorative distraction. Being around plants increases memory retention and concentration. Studies show improved employee morale, decreased absenteeism, and increased worker efficiency due to plant material in office space. Employees are more satisfied at work and had more patience, less frustration, increased enthusiasm for work and fewer health problems. Not having indoor plants were associated with higher levels of tension and anxiety in office workers.

Flowers and plants in the home

Having flowers around the home and office greatly improves people's moods and reduces the likelihood of stress-related depression. Flowers and ornamental plants increase levels of positive energy and help people feel secure and relaxed. Natural aesthetic beauty is soothing to people, and keeping flowers around the home environment is an excellent way to lower levels of stress and anxiety
