Toys R Us liquidation sale 'on hold' until at least Friday

Locations across the country are already posting signs alerting customers of the delay.

The massive Toys R Us liquidation sale that had been scheduled to start Thursday is now "on hold," WKYC has confirmed.

Managers from stores in Elyria, Parma, and North Olmsted say the sale has been delayed nationwide, but could not elaborate on any more details. Toys R Us said in a statement that sales have "likely been delayed until tomorrow."

Locations across the country are already posting signs alerting customers of the delay. Many of those customers have since taken to social media to express their frustrations.

A statement posted on one local sign reads:

We understand there may have been reports of our liquidation sale starting today. We apologize for any confusion the media may have conveyed on our liquidation sale start date, however, we do not have confirmation as to when the liquidation sale will begin. Please check back with us for further information and updates.
