MINNEAPOLIS - Three people were treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a commercial building in Minneapolis late Friday.

Fire crews were dispatched to the single story building on the 2000 block of Jefferson Street Northeast on reports of heavy fire showing. The blaze was quickly elevated to a second alarm, and flames were so intense that crews were forced to take a defensive posture and fight the fire from outside the building.

The address is registered to Kapra Cosmetics.

The fire was brought under control around 2:30 a.m. but firefighters stayed on scene through the morning to put down hot spots. A department spokesman says one adult and two juveniles were treated for smoke inhalation.
