MINNEAPOLIS - Police are investigating what led to a car crashing through a sound wall barrier and ending up on train tracks in Minneapolis Thursday night.

According to a Metro Transit spokesperson, a car driving near east 32nd Street and Hiawatha Avenue hit a parked car before crashing through the barrier.

Metro Transit warned Blue Line LRT commuters to expect delays while crews worked to clear the accident off the tracks.

The man driving the car had no major injuries, but was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Officers are investigating the cause of the crash, including the possibility that the man may have been driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
