MINNEAPOLIS - during the month of February, Hands On Twin Cities invites local community volunteers to support The House of Charity's mission to feed those in need. Where volunteers will prep and serve meals in the House of Charity Food Centre (Age 9+). Hands On Twin Cities lays out a full February schedule (see below) and a sign up link, here.

Hands On Twin Cities, celebrating 100 years of service in 2019, is the Twin Cities only full service volunteer center.

Hands On Twin Cities both promotes and facilitates volunteerism while improving the community’s ability to create more impact with the time generously given by volunteers.

We work with all types of volunteers, companies and nonprofit affiliates to ensure that every hour spent in the community is valuable.

[Our Mission] We inspire, equip and mobilize people to provide hands on impact to solve the most pressing challenges in our communities.

If you or your groups have additional information about the February volunteering opportunities with House of Charity, please contact the House of Charity Community Engagement Coordinator, Nicole Laumer. All inquiries can be emailed to n.laumer@houseofcharity.org.

The mission of House of Charity is to feed those in need, house those experiencing homelessness, and empower individuals to achieve independence by transforming lives...one person at a time.

Since 1952, House of Charity has made an impact in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, and those who are hungry through operating our Food Centre. The mission of our Food Centre is simple; feed all those who walk through our doors, no questions asked. Every day of the year, we serve a hot, free, nutritious meal to over 350 men, women and children.

With a small kitchen staff, we rely heavily on volunteers to assist us in preparing and serving our 5 meals each weekday and 4 meals each weekend day. Volunteers, on a given week, make up 60-80% of our daily staff. Simply put, House of Charity could not operate the Food Centre without their help.
