WOODBURY, Minn. -- The second suspect in an attempted jewelry story robbery in Woodbury has been taken into custody.

The first suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday morning. His body was found inside Johnson Jewelers located at the Seasons Market Shopping Center on Radio Drive.

An officer responded to the area after he noticed suspicious behavior in the parking lot at about 9:30 a.m. As he was checking the lot, an employee ran out of the store and told him a robbery was in progress.

As the officer approached, a shot was fired from inside the store. When officers entered the store they found the body of a man believed to be in his mid-50s. Officers also spotted a blue four-door sedan in the lot.

That vehicle has been found by Minneapolis police. A 46-year-old man was taken into custody. He faces charges for aiding and abetting aggravated first-degree robbery.

No employees or officers were injured during the incident.
