MINNEAPOLIS - Police say one man was wounded and another arrested following a shooting in the Uptown neighborhood early Monday.

Police spokesperson Officer Corey Schmidt, says the trouble started around 12:15 a.m. when two men got into a fight in the 1300-block of Lagoon Ave. One man apparently pulled out a gun and shot the other.

The victim was transported to HCMC to undergo surgery for what police are calling non-life threatening.

Schmidt says the suspect ran from the scene but was captured a short time later. The handgun they believe was used in the shooting was also recovered.

That suspect was also transported to HCMC for evaluation, before being transferred to the Hennepin County Jail.

Neither man's identity has been released by Minneapolis Police.
