St. Paul Police investigating deadly shooting in Payne-Phalen neighborhood

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the deadly shooting happened on the 1000 block of Payne Avenue.

ST PAUL, Minn. — St. Paul PD says a woman believed to be in her 30s was shot and killed Wednesday evening in the city's Payne-Phalen neighborhood. 

Police say the shooting was called in around 6:45 p.m. on the 1000 block of Payne Avenue, where the victim was located inside her vehicle having suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Regions Hospital where authorities say she died of her injuries. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 34-year-old Yuliya Li of St. Paul.

No arrests have been made, and police are unsure what motivated the attack. 

Police are encouraging anyone with information to call 651-266-5650 to help lead to the arrest of the suspect involved. 

Public Information Officer Steven Linders says future updates will arrive on the St. Paul Police Department's Twitter account.

Police say this is the city's seventh homicide of 2022.
