POLK COUNTY, Wis. -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run that killed two people.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on County Highway E. in northeastern Polk County.

According to police, a vehicle was passing through the Round Lake Native American community when it struck two men. Police say the two men were reportedly involved in a physical altercation that spilled onto the roadway just before they were struck.

Authorities are looking for a dark colored extended model pickup truck, possibly a Ford. The pickup may have two auxiliary amber warning lights mounted to the top of the cab. Witnesses also noticed a blue plastic barrel in the box of the pickup.

Police say the driver is about 6 feet tall, and his passenger is approximately 5 foot 7 inches tall. Both are described as having a thin to medium build.

According authorities, the driver of the pickup stopped briefly before driving off.
