MINNEAPOLIS - The Tony-nominated 'School of Rock-The Musical' premiered in Minneapolis at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on March 6 and runs through March 11.
The musical is based on the popular movie starring Jack Black. 'School of Rock-The Musical' shares the story of outrageous rock star wannabe, Dewey Finn, who worms his way into a substitute teaching job at a private school. He puts together a rock band with a group of his students to compete against adults in a ‘Battle of the Bands’ contest and changes their lives as a result.
The students played by actors age 9-12 are a quadruple threat: they sing, dance, act AND they play their own instruments in the band.
Actor Lexie Dorsett Sharp plays Rosalie Mullins, the stern and disciplined principal of Horace Mann Preparatory School. She talked about the show, her character, the power of music and the amazing kids who rock the stage.
