MINNEAPOLIS - Officials evacuated several blocks of buildings in southwest Minneapolis Wednesday due to a natural gas leak.
Just before 4 p.m., Minneapolis Fire crews were called to the intersection of Diamond Lake Road and Wentworth Avenue on a report of a gas leak. Crews arrived to find someone had hit a 24-inch gas main.

Crews evacuated all buildings in the area, and according to Minneapolis Fire officials, Diamond Lake Road was evacuated from Nicollet Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South, on the border of the Tangletown and Windom neighborhoods.
Center Point Energy was on scene working to secure the leak. The roads reopened around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
No injuries were reported.
