The Olympic Games are filled with athletes performing incredible feats of strength and endurance. But you don’t have to be the strongest or toughest to be medal-worthy. You just need to show up.

Take your place at the top of the podium by donating blood at KARE 11 on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Staff from the American Red Cross will be on site from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Appointments are not needed. However, people who wish to schedule a specific donation time can a) use this link ) b) call 1-800-RED CROSS; or c) download the Red Cross Blood Donor app.

Blood supplies fall to critically low levels during the winter. Cold weather has forced some drives to be canceled. The nasty flu season has also prevented many regular donors from giving. The blood drive at KARE 11 is a major effort to restock the blood supply shelves.

Every person who shows up at KARE 11 to donate will receive the following:

This winter blood drive will be held in KARE 11’s south parking lot. KARE 11 is located at 8811 Olson Memorial Highway in Golden Valley, MN. (Map) The drive hours are 1:00 – 7:00pm.
