Resolve to donate blood in 2019

Blood supplies fall to critically low levels during the holidays. That’s why Health Fair 11 and KARE 11 are hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Thursday, January 10. Special incentives are offered to potential donors .

This New Year is an opportunity to start a new tradition of becoming a regular blood donor.

Make your first donation on Jan. 10 during the Health Fair 11 Winter Blood Drive. It takes place at KARE 11 studios in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Staff with the American Red Cross will be on site 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Blood supplies fall to critically low levels during the holidays. The blood drive at KARE 11 is a major effort to restock the blood supply shelves. The Red Cross issues a special invitation to high school students, college students home on break and anyone who is looking for a unique way to give.

Appointments are not necessary. However, donation times may be reserved by using this link.  Enter sponsor code “KARE11”. Then click on one of the red buttons to select an available donation time. Speed up the donation process by completing the Red Cross Rapid Pass®.  To be valid, the Rapid Pass® must be completed within 24 hours of your donation time.

Wondering what it takes to donate? Here’s a link to information on the blood donation requirements.

Need more incentive? How about a new TV?

Everyone showing up to donate will be entered in a drawing for a high-definition flat panel TV. Donors will also receive coupons for Famous Dave’s BBQ and a pint of Culver’s frozen custard, sweet treats from Eileen’s Colossal Cookies and more.
