New guidelines recommend back pain sufferers try alternative therapies, such as acupuncture, yoga, and massage, before medicating the problem.

Gail Ericson, a physical therapist from Penny George Institute’s LiveWell Fitness Center, stopped by KARE 11 to explain.

Ericson also showed viewers which yoga poses might help speed up the healing for back pain sufferers.
