LOS ANGELES - On Monday night, Minnesotan Jesse Larson repped his hometown by performing the song "Jungle Love" by Minneapolis band Morris Day and The Time.
"It was an absolute honor for me to be able to perform music that came from Minneapolis," he told KARE 11 live from Los Angeles on Tuesday. "The Minneapolis sound, what I grew up on, what I play in my bands, the music that's kind of shaped who I am today."
Larson said he felt good as he waited to find out if he makes the next round.
"Even if for some reason I'm coming home tonight, you know what? I'm coming home to a lot of support and respect and love," he said. "I gave it everything I had, and I think if I go home I can be happy with what I left on the stage last night."
It turned out Larson didn't have much to worry about. He advanced to The Voice Top 8 on Tuesday evening.
