Leftover Super Bowl gear goes on sale

The game is over. The merchandise remains.

MINNEAPOLIS - Super Bowl 52 has come and gone. The players, too. But the fans, they’re getting their shopping game on.

Most merchandise at the NFL Store at Mall of America is 50 percent off. The store manager says they intend to keep the store open until Sunday.

“We came yesterday, the sales weren’t as good as we wanted and they didn’t have enough merchandise and so we came back today and just racked up!” said Bridgette and John Cooper of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The two are Philadelphia Eagles fans.

“We have a whole room of Eagles gear.”

Two days after Super Bowl 52 took place in Minneapolis, they’re adding to their collection.

“Shirts, hats, jerseys.”

Stores throughout the area that might still have Super Bowl merchandise are Target stores, Cub Foods stores and select Macy’s stores. The Super Bowl pop-up stores within the Macy’s in Mall of America and the Minneapolis Convention Center have since closed.
