Lifestyle choices and the impact they have on others

The Ripple Effect: How the good or bad food choices we make are influencing our loved ones.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - We know we should eat well and exercise, but did you know your lifestyle choices have a direct impact on your family’s health, too?

Researchers call it the “Ripple Effect” - and Danette Peterson from Profile by Sanford in Edina joined us on KARE 11 News at 4 to talk about how the good or bad food choices we make are influencing our loved ones.

What researchers found is that when one person in a couple starts a weight loss or healthy lifestyle plan - the people they live with start making healthier choices, too.

The good news is motivation is contagious. Even if you don't intend to influence your family members, they get inspired by your healthy choices.

And, Peterson says the healthy lifestyle choices Profile by Sanford members make - whether it’s the right foods or getting more exercise - are having a big impact on entire families and even friends, as well.
