MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - Authorities have identified the woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Maplewood Saturday.

Victoria Thacker DcConwi, age 54, was discovered in a creek bed near a steep enbankment near Hazelwood and Beam just before 3:30 p.m. She was fully clothed, and laying about 30 feet off a walking path. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner made identification of the body late Sunday.

Police investigators learned that Thacker DeConwi moved from Washington State to Minnesota in 2012. She has no local address and is believed to have been homeless for a period of time preceding her death. The official manner and cause of death is waiting on the results of a toxicology test, but authorities say foul play has been ruled out.

"Investigators have learned that Ms. Thacker DeConwi had a long history of personal struggles," said Maplewood Police Commander Mike Shortreed, who oversees the department's Investigations Unit. "Unfortunately, we will not likely determine the reason Ms.Thacker DeConwi was walking in the area her body was located."
