SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. - A church choir practice turned into a fiery commotion Wednesday night in Spring Lake Park.

Just before 8 p.m., police were called to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for a minor crash. They arrived to find a gas line outside the church had been damaged and was on fire.

"We heard a loud boom, looked out the window and could see a car next to the gas line," said one witness who lives across the street from the church. "The gas line immediately started on fire."

The witness said a portion of the roof caught fire but firefighters quickly doused it and soaked the side of the building to prevent the flames from spreading.

Flames were seen coming from the line for at least an hour as crews worked to shut off the ruptured line. Crews were able to shut off the line shortly before 9:30 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
