Sons of Norway marking 125 years

Sons of Norway 125th Anniversary Open House happening on Thursday, January 16.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Lizabeth Halva with Minneapolis-based Sons of Norway and Chef Ragnild Hjeltnes of the Norwegian Consulate stopped by the KARE 11 at 4pm studio to share authentic Nordic treats while also letting viewers know about the Sons of Norway 125th Anniversary Open House happening on Thursday, January 16th.

The event is to celebrate the founding of the Sons of Norway. On January 16th, 1895, the original 18 members of Sons of Norway gathered for their first official meeting. Join us to celebrate this historical moment 125 years later. During this casual event we’ll enjoy traditional dishes like Norwegian waffles, krumkake, meatballs and glogg. We’ll also listen to Nordic music and share memorabilia from over the years.

As always, the mission of Sons of Norway is to bring together people interested in Nordic heritage, to celebrate freedom, faith, family and friends. Join us at the Open House to learn more. The event is FREE, but space is limited, so be sure to RSVP by January 3rd to hold your spot. Learn more at www.sonsofnorway.com
