BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--The 22nd annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is Sunday, May 11 at the Mall of America. Register your team today and continue to help save lives and work to end breast cancer forever.

Events will begin at 7:00 a.m. The morning will kick off with a health expo, refreshments and an aerobic warm-up for participants in the parking lot at 24th Avenue and Lindau Lane. Be sure to stop by KARE Corner in the Health Expo to get your photo taken and to say hello to members of the KARE 11 team! KARE Corner is sponsored by Pandora.

Thousands of race participants will begin the 5K walk at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Thunderbird Road and American Boulevard. A 1K indoor Mall walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Level 2 above Sears Court. The 2014 Race Course Map is available online.

A survivor celebration will conclude the event at 11 a.m. and more than 3,500 breast cancer survivors will gather in the Rotunda for an inspiring celebration and tribute to all who have survived breast cancer and honor those who have lost their battle against the disease. The ceremony will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature local gospel singer, Jearlyn Steele.

New this year, Metro Transit is offering free rides to and from the Mall on Sunday, May 11 from 5 a.m. – noon. By downloading an online coupon, any Race for the Cure participant can redeem a round-trip ticket for any Metro Transit bus or light rail train.
