Authorities want mountain bikers to be on the lookout after dangerous “traps” were found on the Dirt Surfer trail on Bureau of Land Management land.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is working with other agencies to determine where the traps came from.

“We are taking seriously malicious intent to harm others,” a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office reads. “It is wrong and unlawful to intend to bring harm to others or to retaliate.”

Anyone with information about the traps is asked to call the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-328-8500.

If you want to be anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 720-328-7007. If your tip leads to arrest and indictment, you could earn up to a $1,000 reward.
