BRAINERD, Minn. - Brainerd Police now say the report of a needle found in a child's Halloween candy was all a trick.
Police said they investigated the report made over the weekend and discovered the child involved lied about having found a sewing needle in a candy bar.
Brainerd Police originally received the report Saturday night and posted to its Facebook page on Sunday, warning other parents who may have let their kids trick-or-treat in the north and northeast parts of the city.
No one was hurt in the trick and residents are free to enjoy Halloween candy.
Police add that because the case involves a child, they will not be releasing any more information.
