Man dies after being pulled from fire at Mpls. home

Minneapolis recorded its first fatal fire of the year on Saturday night.

MINNEAPOLIS - A man pulled from a fire at a Minneapolis home on Saturday night has died.

Firefighters were called to the home on the 1100 block of 23rd Ave. N. around 6:15 p.m. on a report of a fire. When they arrived, they found flames on the first story of the home but were quickly able to extinguish the fire.

During a search of the home, they found an adult male on the second floor. Paramedics transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center but he later died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. This is the first fatal fire of the year in Minneapolis.
