CRYSTAL, Minn. - Authorities say a man is dead after a standoff with police.
Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek said it started around 5:00 p.m. Friday with a call for officers to a home on Angeline Avenue.
When police got there officers say they found an adult male with a gun.
They evacuated nearby homes and made contact with the man.
A short time later, Stanek says shots were fired by the man and police.
"Upon making contact, shots were fired by both the adult male and officers," according to a news release.
Stanek says the suspect died. No officers were hurt.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating at the request of Crystal police department.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will make the identification and release the official cause of death.
