FINLAYSON, Minn. - The Pine County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that took place early Sunday morning in Finlayson.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to two 911 calls about an assault at an apartment on the 6500 block of Broadway Avenue in Finlayson. According to the sheriff's office, the victim and the suspect both live in the apartment, and they both made the calls.

The male victim was located outside the apartment complex and airlifted to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale. The sheriff's office says he is being treated for multiple stab wounds.

A female was located outside the residence and taken into custody on probable cause first- and second-degree assault, according to the sheriff's office. They say charges are expected to be filed in the coming days.

Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the public. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
