Minnesota's failed bid for Amazon stays under wraps

Despite losing out, Minnesota's proposal is under wraps.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The state and regional economic development agencies that tried to bring Amazon's second headquarters to Minnesota still won't release their proposal.

Minnesota was informed Thursday it missed the cut as the Seattle-based tech giant announced a list of 20 finalists. Amazon set off a nationwide race in September to land its second hub and the promise of up to 50,000 jobs.

But despite losing out, Minnesota's proposal is under wraps. The state's Department of Employment and Economic Development said Thursday it could not release the bid because it didn't have a copy.

GreaterMSP is the regional economic development agency that submitted the final pitch in October. Spokesman Mike Brown says there's no plan to release the specific site proposals but said Friday they are still reviewing the situation.
