PLYMOUTH, Minn. -- Wayzata High School Physical Education teacher Dave Emmans puts one foot in front of the other, every day of the week. Emmans runs at at least a mile, every single day, and he's done so for the past 12 years. He has no intention of stopping.
Emmans is registered with the United States Running Streak Association , which records its longest streak at just over 45 years and counting.
As a physical education teacher, Emmans has inspired some of his students to begin their own running streaks, including a former football player who lost thirty pounds during a year-long streak.
Emmans has run through pneumonia, even a heart arrhythmia. For him, it's not a chore, it's a way of life.
