Multi-car crash backs up 94 near Rogers

There were 32 vehicles involved in the pile up with five non-life threatening injuries.

ROGERS, Minn. - Crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident backing up traffic on I-94 near Rogers on Saturday afternoon. Minnesota Highway Patrol said 30 to 50 vehicles were in the pile up with five injuries. None of the injuries are life threatening.

MnDOT says three semis were involved in the crash, and the two right lanes of 94 eastbound were temporarily blocked. They were open again around 3:10 p.m.

A semi-truck jackknifed due to slippery conditions. There was poor visibility at the time and other vehicles ran into the truck and each other.

MnDOT has been reporting several accidents on Twin Cities freeways throughout the afternoon, including multiple crashes on 94, due to slick roads.

There are currently 220 plows out on the roads to get everything clear for Super Bowl Sunday.
