The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office confirms the person who fell at Sports Authority Field at Mile High died of injuries sustained in the incident.
Officials are not releasing the person’s name or gender but said the person was taken to the hospital Monday night after falling over a stairwell railing from an “unknown height”. The Associated Press reported early Tuesday morning that the fan fell from 30 to 50 feet at the north end of the stadium after the Broncos secured a 27-9 victory over the Houston Texans.
It’s unclear what led to the fatal fall. The Denver Police Department is looking into what happened.
Stadium Management Company, which operates Sports Authority Field at Mile High released the following statement:
“A fan was taken to the hospital after falling over a stairwell railing at Sports Authority Field at Mile High shortly after Monday night’s game. Our thoughts are with the injured fan, and we are in the process of learning more about this incident from the Denver Police Department’s investigation.”
