INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - An odd incident captured on a state trooper's dash cam illustrates the importance of securing objects in a truck or trailer when hauling.

The driver of an SUV was making his way down Highway 52 in Inver Grove Heights Wednesday when a large piece of plastic flew off a dump truck and enveloped his vehicle. A state trooper just happened to be right behind the SUV when the incident happened, and captured it all on his dashcam.

That motorist told the trooper he saw the plastic flapping, anticipated what was about to happen and slowed down so he could pull over safely. A MN State Patrol spokesperson said it's a great reminder why it’s so important to keep your eyes on the road and off your phone. It’s also essential to secure objects in a truck or trailer to avoid a situation that could become deadly.
