MILFORD TOWNSHIP, Minn. - A 71-year-old man and his passenger are lucky to be alive after a large piece of plywood came shooting through their windshield after it flew off a trailer.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the incident happened on April 16 on Highway 14 in Milford Township. The trailer was being pulled by a pickup truck and was headed in the opposite direction of the victim's car.

The piece of plywood flew off the trailer and shot through the windshield as the truck drove away. Several area agencies searched for the pickup truck but were unable to locate it.

The occupants of the car that was hit -- the man and a 69-year-old woman from Edina -- only suffered minor cuts and scratches. Authorities say they also suffered some eye injuries from the glass of the shattered windshield.
