Robbinsdale Dining Hall calls it quits at MN State Fair

Without much notice, the Robbinsdale OES Dining Hall announced it has served its final meal.

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The iconic yellow building known for serving up comforting dining hall meals at the Minnesota State Fair is closing its doors.

The Robbinsdale Order of the Eastern Star Dining Hall announced on its Facebook page that a vote was taken to give up their cozy yellow building and sell it back to the State Fair.

"Auction company has been hired to sell the equipment and things in the building," the post reads.

The dining hall has been serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Great Minnesota Get-Together since 1937. They became famous for their all-day pancakes, pulled pork sandwiches and pot roast dinners.

The Star Tribune reports the decision stems from "labor challenges and rising costs," plus major improvements needed for the building itself.

The Robbinsdale OES Dining Hall was known for its loyal volunteers, who would come back to work the fair year after year.

The auction to sell off items from the dining hall will end Thursday at 7 p.m. Auction items can be found here.
