ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra has been awarded a Grammy.

Back in November, the group was nominated for "Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance" for its recording titled "Death and the Maiden." On Sunday, they won.

The album was recorded alongside musician Patricia Kopatchinskaja.

"I thought it was a nice performance and it's nice to have this confirmation of that," Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Artistic Director Kyu-Young Kim says.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra also won a Grammy back in 1980.

On Sunday, Gov. Mark Dayton issued a statement saying, "Congratulations to the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra for your Grammy Award. You make all of Minnesota very proud!”

The Minnesota Orchestra was nominated for another category, "Best Orchestral Performance," but did not win.
