ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Paul police have arrested four people after an alleged armed robbery and rape near Raspberry Island.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery and sexual assault in a parking lot near Raspberry Island at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday, according to St. Paul Police Sgt. Mike Ernster.
Ernster said two teen boys, ages 15 and 16, and two 18-year-old women told police they were eating and talking in the parking lot when they were approached by four male suspects. The victims told police one of the suspects showed a gun and demanded that they get on the ground and hand over their valuables.
After the teens complied with demands, they told police the two girls were forced into a nearby vehicle and raped by one or more of the suspects.
The suspects then fled on foot. Police say three of the suspects were later taken into custody by West St. Paul police on an unrelated robbery, and a fourth was arrested around noon Tuesday.
Police say three of the suspects are adult men and one is a juvenile male.
