Students react to both sides of the gun debate

MINNEAPOLIS - One in three young people plan to join the "March For Our Lives" protests on Saturday, according to a new USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll.

The survey of 13- to 24-year-olds — including more than 600 middle-school and high-school students — shows both the depth of anxiety that school violence has fueled and the way a movement has spread across the country since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead.

The survey found 18 percent say they will march in Washington, D.C. or at one of the 800 other simultaneous demonstrations across the globe.
