DULUTH, Minn. - One of Minnesota's most dearly missed bluegrass bands is coming back for another run - and they're starting it off in St. Paul.
Trampled by Turtles announced on Tuesday that they're dropping a new album and going on tour after a hiatus of over a year. The band, originally from Duluth, accompanied the announcement with a new single, "Kelly's Bar."
The Turtles took a break in 2016 when frontman Dave Simonett pivoted to his other project, Dead Man Winter.
Fans got a bit of renewed hope in October of 2017, when the band appeared to be back together - or at least sitting in the same room - to record a Facebook live tribute to Tom Petty.
After another ominous tease via social media on Monday, the rumors were confirmed on Tuesday.
Trampled will go on tour beginning with a two-night run at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul on May 4 and 5. Those performances are already sold out.
