ROYAL, Iowa - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says three children reported abducted in an Iowa Amber Alert have been found safe.
The alert was issued Tuesday just after 4 p.m. for a 4-year-old and two 8-year-olds the Clay County Sheriff's Office said were believed to be abducted from Royal, Iowa by their mother.
Authorities believed they were headed to northwest Iowa or Minnesota.
The Minnesota BCA announced just after 9 p.m. that the children were located safe in Iowa.
