LITTLE CANADA, Minn. - Authorities are now saying three people were shot early Saturday morning in Little Canada.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office has corrected earlier information that said four people were hit by gunfire. Saturday afternoon they said there were three victims, and none of their injuries were life threatening.
Ramsey County deputies were called to the area of Rice Street and Demont Avenue shortly before 2:00 a.m. for a disturbance call.
"At this time we don't know if they were connected, the disturbance call and the shots fired," Sgt. John Eastham says. "It allowed us to respond more quickly with squads in the area."
Witnesses say the shooter took off running into a wooded area near the restaurant shortly after the shots were fired. Deputies called in a K-9 unit to track him down.
"All reports are that it was a single suspect that was firing a weapon and we believe we have that suspect in custody," Eastham explains.
All the victims were treated at nearby hospitals.
